PROFILE
DI MASSA ANTONIO
Tonino was born on the beautiful Napolitan island of Ischia
on the 14th of April 1970. He started his pizza-making
career at the age of seven, working at the nearby pizzeria
'Tonino Troncone'. From 13 to 28 years old, he continued
his apprenticeship under the maestro Gaetano Fazio. During
the off-season, he worked at different pizzerias in Naples,
broadening his knowledge of the art of Italian cuisine.
Starting in 1987, he spent four years studying diet and
nutrition. He arrived in Japan on the 31st of July, 1998.
His first four years he worked at a pizzeria in Eifukucho,
Suginami ku. On the 31st of March, 2003 he started a new
chapter in his life and opened Pizzeria Tonino.
In February 2006 Tonino opened a new Pizzeria Tonino in
Bologna, Italy. He is now busy with his latest projects,
opening restaurants in central Tokyo and in other major
cities of the world.
